From the Philippines: a much longed for baby...

After four years of trying...

"Over 4 years of trying to have a child, we've had 5 heartbreaking miscarriages. We have spent a lot of time and money on all kinds of treatment from the best doctors in the country and for a time out of desperation, even tried alternative medical treatments...nothing.

We still lost the succeeding pregnancies.

We had spent almost 2 years researching surrogacy as an option. We had thought briefly of adopting but we were adamant that our child be genetically ours so we zoned on on looking at gestational surrogacy further. There were a couple of countries we looked at and decided on India. Now we researched the best clinic for us and after very extensive research, we felt Dr.Shivani and SCI was the clinic that will help make our dream come true...and did.

It was a very nerve-wracking 9 months with our surrogate having to be hospitalized for almost 2 months but all throughout, the SCI team were always there. Updates were timely and we were always updated. A very professional organization, caring for their surrogates and you really felt that they were doing their best to help and ensure a successful outcome.

I cannot thank Dr.Shivani and her entire team at SCI enough. You facilitated making our dream come true and we are now a family. Thank you and more success to SCI."

From Argentina: A big thank you from "a full family".

Dear Dr. Shivani, SCI Team,

Eden Hospital’s NICU staff and mainly Our “Angel” Surrogate Mother:

Never is too late to THANK YOU for making us parents after a long and difficult path, here we are to express A BIG THANK YOU to a BIG Team, that is behind this happy ending story, a team led by Dr Shivani:

-SCI staff (Admin  & Nurses) and the whole team who is involved in the process who showed at all times so much professionalism. During the pregnancy, the way they kept us updated, and every single email was replied when we had any inquiry, everything was straight forward …they showed at all times comforting empathy throughout the process.

It is worth mentioning that behind this great and well organized team there is a supportive leader who knows exactly what and how to meet our expectations, without her experience and professionalism this train called SCI would not move forward…she is the one who pulls this big train: Dr Shivani – THANK YOU for trusting in us, for being honest and straight forward on our first visit but mainly thanks for accepting our decision and to respect it.

After birth, the NICU staff at Eden Hospital showed the best professionalism and it is incredible how careful they are with the babies taking all the necessary precautions.

Once on the “real role play of being parents”: A special thanks to Mrs. Mariamma and her team of nurses  for assisting us in our first few weeks as parents, giving us tips and reassuring us when we did not know exactly what to do, helping us to sleep…during the nights…giving us the confidence to do it on our own.

Last but not the least…the main Protagonist of this story…”Our Angel” Now that we hold our babies it is hard to express in words how thankful we are to our angel, as we call our SM.

From the first time we knew these two little persons were growing in her belly, she became part of your day-to-day thoughts and prayers. She is the most beautiful and generous person, meeting her after the birth of the babies gave us peace to our souls to be able to thank her in person for letting us be parents … though the language was a barrier but I could confirmed there that words sometimes are not needed…the message was clear…she understood what our hugs and smiles towards her and our eyes full of tears meant…and even though time pass by I still remember the precise moment that …me and her together…I was holding my babies that she carried for me for 9 months…We are full family and we owe it to her…

Finally, we would also like to thank other IP (Intended Parents) who have come part of our lives while expecting some of them through the forum, which was our way to share with them because we were all on the same boat, and also other IP from our country who helped us in shortening the process.

We feel so lucky and overwhelmed to finally have our babies at home… and we wish everyone success on their journey.

For those who are considering Surrogacy let me tell you… the first step is always the most difficult one… but is possible….and most difficult is to believe that this time is YOUR time and that finally it will happen…but for once, you have to believe it, it is just a matter of, for once, believing that things finally can also happen to YOU as well…and soon a baby will be giggling in your home…

With kind regards and for ever thankful,

A full family from Argentina.

From Australia: a POSITIVE story from WA

It is lovely to have families think about others

Dr Shivani Sachdev Gour Reviews from Australia

With all of the negative Surrogacy press here in Australia and particularly Western Australia I thought that I would send you a note to thank everyone at SCI for a thoroughly honest, professional service.

Without you, our darling 18mth princess would not be the joy to her older brother or the light and centre of our universe. We have to stop and pinch ourselves and remind ourselves of how lucky WE are to have used SCI and to have her in our life,

From the UK: Generations of family rejoice after 11 years of waiting...

Their words say enough...

Dear Dr Shivani and Team,
First and foremost, thank-you so much for making our dreams come true – our boy and girl, born in April, through the help and support from SCI.

Just like a lot of couples, we had a long journey and an 11 year wait to get to this stage.  We approached many clinics in the UK and across the globe and unfortunately faced one disappointment after another, with failed IVF cycles.
Approaching SCI was our final call and when our first cycle failed, we were devastated.  However, the professionalism shown by you, Dr Shivani, and your team convinced us to try again, with the result being our precious twins.

Thank-you once again, for all that you’ve done to make this possible.  A big thank-you also to our beautiful surrogate.  SCI is a quality clinic and the support provided to us both during the pregnancy and to this day, whilst we’re here in India waiting for passports for our babies, has been superb!

Whilst we’ve been over the moon with our precious twins, our whole family has been overjoyed.

Here are a few words from the grandparents, who haven’t stopped smiling:

From Dadi and Dada,
Dr Shivani – thank-you for giving us hope through our new grandchildren to continue to fight our illnesses and face another day.  We’re so grateful to have this new light in our lives.  Thank-you so much!

From Nani and Nana,
Words cannot express how much these grandchildren mean to us.  We have longed to see them for 11 years!  Thank-you Dr Shivani for making this possible and bringing so much happiness into our lives.

From Australia:a little princess, much loved and adored

After years of failed infertility treatment, success and a beautiful baby girl...

Having just celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary, our very long journey began eight years ago.   With repeat miscarriages and failed IVF attempts, we refused to give up on our dream of becoming parents.  We investigated many avenues and we decided that surrogacy was our best option and that SCI was our first preference.  For us spiritually it felt right to choose an Indian surrogate.

SCI also provided egg donor profiles and happy with this we chose a donor whose profile suited us.  We were all set to go pretty much straight away when our donor was delayed due to her study commitments.  Happy to wait for her and not opt for another donor, Maurice travelled to India in early May 2013.  The hospitality of the Indian people, SCI’s world class staff and facilities, the brilliant Dr Shivani and the wonderful driver Rahul and his team organised by SCI,  left a very positive and lasting impression on Maurice.  This week would not only be life changing for Maurice, it would be life creating for us as a family.

Almost one year later, we were set to fly out to New Delhi on the 30th of April in anticipation of our baby’s expected arrival on the 9thof May.  Our first round of embryo transfers with two surrogates failed and this second time due to the ever changing laws, Dipkami was our sole surrogate.    Dipkami was now pregnant with our baby and we were thrilled to be on our way to meet them both!

However, this was to be sooner than we expected as on the 17th of April we received an email that due to concerns with the baby having a double nuchal chord, our baby daughter had been delivered!  That was Good Friday, we were on a plane Easter Monday!  Our beautiful, healthy Quintessa Grace was born a day short of 37 weeks.  Quintessa was quite jaundiced and as a result stayed in hospital under photo therapy lights until it started to clear.  Quite symbolically for us as Australians, Quintessa came home to the hotel with us on Anzac Day April the 25th.  The care she received from the doctors and nurses at Eden hospital was not only world class but was combined with the wisdom and nurturing of the Indian culture and spirituality.

We were very happy and relieved that our wonderful surrogate Dipkami was recovering well and were thrilled to meet both she and her husband.  We gave them gifts to thank them and in the absence of a common language,  our display of emotions being universal were felt and understood.  That said no words would ever convey our sheer gratitude to Dipkami and absolute joy that she was healthy and well.  Dr Shivani was also there to congratulate us and it was wonderful to thank her and recognise her for all her hard work.

Also through SCI we engaged the services of Poonam Jain of Prime Air Global Ltd, who organised our documents for FRRO ensuring a swift turnaround with our visas.  Our dealings with FRRO, The Australian High Commission and Australian Passports Office were all pleasant and easy.

From the time we arrived in New Delhi to the day we departed (a little over three weeks), we felt genuine support and care from by the SCI Team.  There was never a moment that we felt alone or that we could not call them for assistance or advice.  As first time parents in a foreign country, the importance of this cannot be emphasised enough.

We have been home now for a little over six weeks and have settled into our daily life.  Quintessa is developing as we would hope, with her weight and growth going forward in leaps and bounds.  Her feeding and sleeping routines are like clockwork, we feel truly blessed as so far she is a healthy, easy baby.  Quintessa is now smiling and cooing, she is an absolute delight and we are completely smitten!  Our families cannot get enough of their little princess and she is very loved and adored.

Thanks to SCI our dream of having a family has been realised and we hope to return to India in the near future so that Quintessa can see the magical land in which she was born.

Yours Sincerely and Forever Grateful,

Maurice, Angelique and Quintessa

From Argentina: a sibling project and a family forever linked with India...

There is always something very special when a family comes back to SCI and trusts us again with a sibling project, thank you Graciela and Fernando for once again sharing your story...

Dear Dr. Shivani:
After receiving our first son Francisco Agustín on 10/12/12, we renew our joy to have received our second son Teo Benjamin  03/06/14 through the service SCI Healthcare.

We are blessed to acknowledge the dedication and care they have had with our son Benjamin Teo in the NICU, as well as also with care and fulfillment of obligations with our mother surrogate  again.

This wonderful country, the warmth of its people and so specialized professionals, have never failed to meet our expectation of parenting.
Today our family consists of two children born by surrogacy.

So our relationship with India will be continual and life in the future.

We thank you with much love what they have done for us.
Cordially

Estimado Dr. Shivani:

Hoy nuestra familia esta compuesta de dos hijos nacidos por  subrogación gestacional.

Por eso nuestro lazo con India será contínuo y para toda la vida en el futuro.

Meeting Kai's surrogate and trying again...

Thank you to Rebecca and her surrogate for agreeing to share their story...

I have just returned from India and got to meet up with Kai's surrogate and have a wonderful chat with lots of laughter and I found out soooo much more about her and her life. She has agreed to try again for a sibling for Kai and I kept asking are you sure you want to do this?? She kept laughing saying I’m really sure it was a great experience last time and I do want to try again.

I showed her videos and pics of Kai and she loved seeing them. I asked her if she felt sad at times not having a baby after being pregnant and she was like no way!! I have a 13 year old daughter and she is very difficult at the moment and a younger son. Life is busy enough!

I asked her if she wanted a copy of the photo of all of us after Kai was born and she said she already has it and she made it very big and it is framed and on her wall at home. She said she doesn't like the pic of her (as she says she looks pale) but she wanted to have it so everyone could see it. This really threw me....I told her how some people think we are exploiting women in India and she said no no no I wanted to do it and I want to do it again, I think for myself. She said all her friends and relatives know and they think it is wonderful....what a surprise and a relief.

Many other topics were talked about and I was just buzzing when we finally said our goodbyes and hugged again and again!

Dr.Shivani 'rocks' the Melbourne 'families through surrogacy' conference and celebrates with our Australian SCI Family part one

Dr. Shivani arrived in Melbourne and was greeted by SCI families at the conference and at the SCI Dinner...

Some people made their own i belong to SCI family badges

People posed with banners or identified their baby on fb

while Dr. Shivani did one of the things she does best, promoting surrogacy, Surrogate care and her SCI Family

But the event we were looking forward to the most, the now Annual SCI family Dinner, with short notice, over 50 people and a hoard of children with old and new SCI families, the evening. which is best reflected through parents quotes and photos:

"It was an amazing night. An atmosphere of love and overwhelming joy. It was a real pleasure to meet the many people who we have been chatting to in online forums for years. Its an honour to be a part of it all. God bless you all."

David had a fantastic night. It's 2am and he's still talking about it. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking with lots of families and of course, catching up with Dr Shivani

it was lovely to read the thoughts of those that could not be there, especially for those just had babies or  who are expecting very soon...

Sounds like it was great fun and I'm sorry we missed it. But our two bubbas are a little young yet to be travelling so far. Maybe next time...

Sounds like you all had a great night wish we could have joined you all but with 3wks and 5 days to go (who's counting) we are madly trying to get ourselves ready for the big call!! Some photos would be good if you have any

a very special thank you to Mel who helped organised the dinner, we very much look forward to seeing everyone next year

We wll leave you with one ambitious request " So great to see you and so many other friends!!!! I think the next dinner should be in Hawaii so ips from the states can come too!! That would be so much fun!!

From Canada: two proud parents with two precious boys

Another family completed with proud parents from Canada and two gorgeous chaps...

Dear Dr. Shivani and SCI team,

We can’t thank Dr. Shivani and the SCI team enough for our two precious boys.   They are evidence that miracles do happen.

Surrogacy is not an easy decision to make, especially when everything is going to happen on the other side of the world.  Every family that goes down this path has their own difficult story that lead them to this path and it is a daunting decision to try something different knowing that more disappointment could be on the way.  We were very sceptical to start but found SCI to be very professional from the very beginning.  We can’t thank Margarida enough for always answering all of our questions during the early days and we can’t thank the entire SCI team enough for their professional behaviour.  Communication was very important for us and we were very impressed that we would always receive our updates on schedule and every email that we sent would be answered within 24 hours.

There is nothing we can do or say to thank Dr. Shivani enough for helping us start and complete our family.  She will always have a special place in our hearts!

If you would like to read more about our story, you can follow us at www.doubletroubletwinz.com.

Thank you once again,

Proud parents from Canada
