From Argentina: a sibling project and a family forever linked with India...
Dear Dr. Shivani:
After receiving our first son Francisco AgustÃn on 10/12/12, we renew our joy to have received our second son Teo Benjamin 03/06/14 through the service SCI Healthcare.
We are blessed to acknowledge the dedication and care they have had with our son Benjamin Teo in the NICU, as well as also with care and fulfillment of obligations with our mother surrogate again.
This wonderful country, the warmth of its people and so specialized professionals, have never failed to meet our expectation of parenting.
Today our family consists of two children born by surrogacy.
So our relationship with India will be continual and life in the future.
We thank you with much love what they have done for us.
Cordially
Teo, Francisco, Graciela and Fernando
Estimado Dr. Shivani:
Cordialmente
Teo, Francisco, Graciela y Fernando

Meeting Kai's surrogate and trying again...
Thank you to Rebecca and her surrogate for agreeing to share their story...
I have just returned from India and got to meet up with Kai's
surrogate and have a wonderful chat with lots of laughter and I found out soooo
much more about her and her life. She has agreed to try again for a sibling for Kai and I kept asking are
you sure you want to do this?? She kept laughing saying I’m really sure it was a great experience last time and I do want to try
again.I showed her videos and pics of Kai and she loved seeing them. I asked her if she felt sad at times not having a baby after being pregnant and she was like no way!! I have a 13 year old daughter and she is very difficult at the moment and a younger son. Life is busy enough!
I asked her if she wanted a copy of the photo of all of us after Kai was born and she said she already has it and she made it very big and it is framed and on her wall at home. She said she doesn't like the pic of her (as she says she looks pale) but she wanted to have it so everyone could see it. This really threw me....I told her how some people think we are exploiting women in India and she said no no no I wanted to do it and I want to do it again, I think for myself. She said all her friends and relatives know and they think it is wonderful....what a surprise and a relief.
Many other topics were talked about and I was just buzzing when we finally said our goodbyes and hugged again and again!

From Canada : Dayenu (It would have been enough)
Another amazing story, full of adventure and hope with a brilliant ending...
Dayenu (It would have been enough)
One of my favourite songs as a kid, was called "Dayenu (catchy tune)." Dayenu means "It would be sufficient." The song marks the Jewish people's rise and escape from slavery to salvation. The song goes something like this: If God only punished our tormenters in Egypt (who forced us to be slaves), that would have been enough. If he only led us out of slavery/Egypt, that would have been enough. If he only gave us a homeland, that would be enough. The song goes on to mention many things God gave the Jews, even though one would have been enough, he gave them all of them!
Dr. Shivani's clinic here in New Dehli and what it has given me, reminds me exactly of this song, for:
1) If they only gave me one child, any child, healthy or otherwise, that would have been enough.
2) if they only gave me one child, that would have been enough.
3) If they would have give me twins and one was unhealthy, that would have been enough.
4) if they gave me twins and they were the same gender, that would have been enough.
5) If I left with a child and didn't feel a forever bond with the other parents and a belonging to a very special group, that would have been enough.
6) If I came home with a child, but didn't have the most amazing story and adventure of all parents in the world and how we finally met 16,000 kilometres away and our incredible stay in a foreign land, with hundreds of friends and family waiting at the airport for your eventual arrival, that would have been enough.
7) If I came home with a child, but never felt I go back to have another child, that would be enough.
8) If as a single male bringing home twins, I would never have an effect on future males wanting to have children or have an effect on people's views of parenting roles around the world forever more, that would be enough.
But you see, this clinic gave me all these things. My name is Steven Mintz and I from Canada.
After so many failures and heartbrakes with other clinics, I came here and on the first try was the lucky father of twins. Their names are Ryan and Emily-Rose, a boy and a girl, and are two very healthy children. I feel as part of group and bond with other parents here as we all share the same hopes and dreams when we arrive here. That's not something I have felt at home before. The adventure here in India has just begun and it is part of the story I am collecting of their births to give to them on their 16th birthday (traditional big birthday in Canada). I know I could come back if needed too, and recommend to all my friends having difficulty conceiving a child which are many. But mostly, the last one, I will have a positive impact on stereotypical gender roles regarding children worldwide and for generations to come. And that would have been enough!
Dayenu
As always, we wish this family the choicest of blessings.

From Scotland : A wee bonnie lass
Another SCI family completed after a long journey of infertility and trying everything else
Dear SCI,
It is difficult to put into words the feelings of thanks we have to Dr Shivani and all her team for making our dream come true with the birth of our beautiful daughter Emilia. She has settled well into her life in Scotland but she is also the source of many fond memories from our time in Delhi. The culture, the warmth of the people and the many experiences also made it unforgettable and we would love to return.
We would also like to say how amazing the clinic were in dealing with us from day one and for patiently taking an interest in every stage of our journey. Their referral to Poonam and recommendation to use the excellent nurses (special mention to Ruth and Anila) was invaluable.
With best wishes from Scotland,
Neil, Cat and Emilia xxx
Scottish clients are always close to Dr. Shivani's heart as she reiminses with them over familiar places and favourite haunts from her time in Scotland as a gynecologist and obstetrician at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
We wish this family the choicest of blessings and a life filled with joy, laughter and happiness. If you want to find out more about surrogacy, please email us at : drshivanisachdev@gmail.com
