From the U.S: on our way home...

We wish this family the choicest of blessings, and as with all our families, we are with you until you leave Delhi...

I appreciate all of the support and assistance of your clinic staff throughout this process. It helped a great deal knowing that you all had my back.  Much thanks. I also wanted to commend Lalit, Jyoti and whoever else helped with the FRRO issue.  Their willingness to jump in and solve problems made all the difference.  Please thank them for me.

We will be flying out tomorrow afternoon.  Overall this has been a wonderful experience, and I am going to miss India and Delhi a great deal - but I'm looking forward to getting back to my own home.

From Norway: our almost twins

Another dream come true, another family completed, safely home in Norway...

From Norway: “our beautiful journey”

Our adventure began in the summer of 2012, when we visited SCI for the first time. Now, a year later, our dream has come true, as we have two beautiful babies: Indigo and Violette, born two months apart with eggs from the same donor.

We are forever grateful to SCI staff, Dr Shivani, Eden Hospital and to our incredible surrogates for helping us, and for making the whole process a pleasure as well as a thrill!

Thank you!
Tusen takk!

Warmest greetings from Thomas and Ole

We wish this family the choicest of blessings and wish them all the best as they return home with their much wanted and loved babies.

From Australia : a letter to a daughter

A touching letter from a mother to a daughter...

To our dearest Isla,
I feel privileged to be your Mummy. Your Daddy and I dreamt about you way before you were ever a reality. Having a baby is a big decision, but having a baby through surrogacy is like handing over your heart to someone else. Every breath is harder when you entrust (through limited choice) your baby to another woman. The statement below summarises how we feel about you.
While we try to teach our children all about life, Our children teach us what life is all about - Angela Schwindt

The journey to have you has made Mummy and Daddy and those around us grow as people. The birth of you Isla made Mummy and Daddy's love even stronger because having you in India gave us a different future, a bigger brighter one filled with endless opportunity and wonder. India gave us the gift of a baby. While you grew in Santosh's tummy, we grew in life too.

India, Santosh and Dr Shivani showed us what kindness is all about. I often stood in India shaking my head at how I had never had the opportunity to see life differently. Differently in India was beautiful Isla. India didn't have what I was used to in terms of my life but it had more, way more. To see mothers in India with their children made me want to be a better mother, better woman.

Santosh had made a decision to better her family, her daughters life. To provide a life for her that her current situation couldn't provide. India didn't have the opportunity to provide as easy as other countries and she told me she wanted to do what she knew she could do well and that was carry a baby. You.

There may be times when you meet people who do not agree with Surrogacy when you tell them about how you were born but you need to carry with you that in life your story is yours. You never have to justify how or why but always know you were desperately wanted and loved. It has been said that surrogates (commercial agreements) only do it for money, but I can assure you that if that was the reason Santosh originally wanted to do it, having you changed that.

The day you were born was miraculous. I sat (paced) in the hospital waiting room with people I didn't know. It wasn't until Santosh's carer Rohan came out to let me know that you were still being born that they all cheered and told me they were Santosh's family and that they were so proud of her. They were in awe of what she was doing for us and for them. That changed me forever. I never saw life the same way again. Here we were, two women, two mothers.

Although I carried your sisters in my tummy, I felt incredibly bonded to your growth in Santosh's tummy. When I held you in my arms the first time Isla, you were mine and it felt the same the day your sisters were born when I held them.

I remember the days after you were born like yesterday. Santosh unwrapped you from your baby blanket, took off you clothes to count your fingers and toes then wrapped you up, kissed your forehead and handed you to me. Nothing was said but the smile on her face is etched in my mind. She had wanted to hand you to me after she saw you were perfect, and you were.

I felt incredibly honoured to have a connection with Santosh. When Santosh's daughter told me she had loved you the entire time you were in her Mummy's tummy and that she had loved you for me I knew that life had given me the greatest of gifts, you and her. I admired her strength and as a woman I had put my faith in her (blindly) and the result was you.

Our beautiful Isla. I say 'our' because you are not mine, but both of ours. Without me there would be no you, without her there would be no you and you are perfect. We love you Isla and hope that you continue to grow up kind, happy and tolerant to those who have 'different' lives than you, be it class, race, religion, sexual preference, divorced families and so on. That is all we want for you. We all have different stories in life, it is just how it is told.

When you sat in Santosh's arms when you were 8 months old I watched you stare at her and you both smiled. I wanted to freeze time and watch that for longer. There was a connection there that will never be broken through time or distance.

Isla they say it takes a village to raise a baby and we are so lucky that we belong to a surrogacy village. Other families who you will identify with, other children who were loved and dreamt of like you, including your sisters J & E. You are special Isla. We love you and so do many others.
 Love your Mummy.

From Australia : Two years on and now a book!

It is amazing where your journey will take you...

“SURROGACY IN INDIA- DREAMS CAN COME TRUE”

My husband and I had our daughter through SCI Healthcare back in 2010. I have since written a book and had it published here in Australia called ‘Surrogacy In India’- Dreams can come true’. It is our story as well as a self help book explaining from start to finish about doing surrogacy in India, all of the tests, paperwork needed etc. This book is available for purchase as a printed copy or as an e-book on the following site.

Information from the Author

My husband and I embarked on a journey of a lifetime to make our dream come true, to get the baby we so desired, but could not conceive the natural way.

We are based in South Australia and our baby was conceived in a lab and began her life in the womb of a surrogate mother in New Delhi, India. Travelling overseas was our only hope of Shane having a child of his own.
Surrogacy in India shares our journey and provides practical information to help you make your dream come true. You will learn where to start, what to expect along the way and how to get your baby(ies) home with you, safe and sound to start your new family life.
It is not always an easy journey, but in the end, it is well worth it.

From Australia : Twins to two joyous Dads

A pigeon pair returned safely home to their family and friends, just in time for their first photo shoot...

To SCI Healthcare and dr. Shivani,

It only seems like yesterday that we were on a plane Delhi bound to start the journey of becoming a family.

After meeting Dr. Shivani and her team it was an easy decision to go ahead and start the process. On the 27th of June 2013, we were blessed with the arrival of our beautiful twins, otto and Leni.

We could never thank Dr. Shivani and her lovely team enough for this wonderful gift of life, the process was made easy with the admin staff and there very prompt replies to all our emails.

The gift of life must truly be the ultimate gift, and that is what Dr. Shivani and her team do.

We will never forget you all!

Jay, Jeremy, Leni and Otto xxxxxxx

From the USA: A father meeting his son for the first time

Some photos just stay with you, this is one of them. After waiting for so long, to finally meet your child...

Dear Dr. Shivani,

A mere thank you seems wholly inappropriate in this situation, but nothing we can do or say can possibly measure up to what you have given us..."Lex", the first blessing we count every day.

After failed infertility treatments and failed adoptions, we came to you with a pocket full of hope. Less than nine months later, we have a healthy son of our very own!

Your team gave us unwavering support throughout the entire process and bent over backwards to make sure we made it home in time for my husband to meet Lex before returning to Afghanistan.

Even though we are eternally grateful for what you, your team, and our surrogate have already given us, we have complete confidence that we will be back in Delhi for another baby pick-up.

With the sincerest of thanks,

BLT

We wish this family the choicest of blessings and pray for the safe return home of this father to his family.

Breaking News: Legal Challenge to ban on single intended parents

BREAKING NEWS FOR SINGLE INTENDED PARENTS

A Sudanese Man is challenging  the changes made to visa applications which prohibit single clients from accessing surrogacy services in India. The final decision of the courts may take 2-3 years to determine.

However, if the courts grant a stay on the particular notification which prohibits surrogacy for single people, this stay will be applicable to all States of India because the notification is common across all States.

This would grant interim relief to all single clients and allow treatment to recommence.

From Spain: new Papa's and beautiful twins

One Spanish family's reflection on their journey with SCI...

ENGLISH
Today it has been 10 weeks since our loved babies Gael and Jimena were born at Eden Hospital in Delhi. They are two healthy and very nice babies, who make us really happy.
It was hard to take the decision of becoming parents through surrogacy and to choose a clinic which  produces confidence. Nevertheless, SCI clinic and its great team made everything much easier. They assisted us with tenderness and efficiency before, during and after pregnancy, helping both us and our children to feel comfortable. We already noted they looked after our surrogate mother with love and respect, and that was very important for us.
We know that new guidelines issued by Indian Government regarding visa requirements makes more difficult surrogacy for Spaniards, but do not give  up and struggle for your dream to come true because it is really worth it. And do trust SCI, as although some cultural differences may come up, they are wonderful people and great professionals which will help you in everything you need. You better contact directly with them without any intermediary agency. They can provide you with everything.
Being a gay couple never affected how we were treated, which turned out to be always respectful and in the same way as a heterosexual couple.

If we had to begin now again, we would definitely choose SCI. Thank you very much to Dr. Shivani, Dr. Vishal, Jyoti, Lalit, Gourav, Neha, Yogita y Rachna. We will always be grateful to you.
Greetings from Murcia,  Spain, from Juan, Pedro, Gael and Jimena.

As with all our families' we wish this new family the choicest of blessings. If you wish to find out more about surrogacy with SCI, please contact us at : drshivnaisachdev@gmail.com

From Australia: a beautiful baby girl ( and two gorgeous cousins)

There is nothing as precious as when friends recommend us to friends, but when family recommends us to family, we know that we have done something special to have gained such trust...

Two cousins and SCI babies 30mths apart
“We have never been so happy as the night we got the call from Dr Shivani to say we had a healthy baby girl. We can’t thank Dr Shivani and all the team at SCI enough for helping us achieve our dream. We will always remember the babies we lost along the way but holding baby Samantha in our arms for the first time lessened the pain and brought us so much happiness it’s hard to describe.

My sister and her husband have a 2 and a half year old daughter also born through surrogacy with SCI in 2011 and we know they will always share a very special bond not only as cousins but also because of how they came into this world. Alyssa is very excited to have a baby cousin and constantly wants to help with feeding, nappy changing and ‘holding it’.

Thank you so much for our little miracle. We can’t wait to get her home to meet the rest of our family.

Victoria, Australia"

From the U.S - a gorgeous baby boy

We have many families coming to us battered and scared with a history of failed fertility treatments; SCI gives out hope that things can be different , as it was with this family

Thank you SCI  !!
We showed up at your doorstep scared and broken. You welcomed us with such open arms and hospitality and offered such precious HOPE. Egg retrieval & IVF went smoothly and we retrieved 14 eggs-and now one of those precious eggs is our stunning son !

From Australia : Two girls and dreams come true...

The best part of our role, making people's dreams come true...

You already know you are a saint, but we cannot let this opportunity pass without sharing our deepest gratitude for what you have done for us over the past 10 months. First, if it wasn’t your efficiency professionalism and consideration. We would still be trying to use my ineffective eggs or worse still had fallen pregnant ,ended up with a child with a disability. For that alone we will never be able to thank you enough …as the system in Australia failed us and you amazed and saved us.

Second, the business that you have created and all of the people who help make it operate, is inspiring. You go well beyond any expectation of any job you have obviously made it your mission in life to bring life to those who cannot create it in any other way. Finally we feel privileged to have been so fortunate that fate led us to you and feel our girls will always be blessed simply by being touched by you.
So thank you sincerely for making a seemingly impossible dream a reality and for giving us faith when no one else did the first time we met you, you said, you will have babies.
Thanks,

Dave & Natalie

From Canada : Dayenu (It would have been enough)

Another amazing story, full of adventure and hope with a brilliant ending...

Dayenu (It would have been enough)
One of my favourite songs as a kid, was called "Dayenu (catchy tune)." Dayenu means "It would be sufficient." The song marks the Jewish people's rise and escape from slavery to salvation. The song goes something like this: If God only punished our tormenters in Egypt (who forced us to be slaves), that would have been enough. If he only led us out of slavery/Egypt, that would have been enough. If he only gave us a homeland, that would be enough. The song goes on to mention many things God gave the Jews, even though one would have been enough, he gave them all of them!
Dr. Shivani's clinic here in New Dehli and what it has given me, reminds me exactly of this song, for:
1) If they only gave me one child, any child, healthy or otherwise, that would have been enough.
2) if they only gave me one child, that would have been enough.
3) If they would have give me twins and one was unhealthy, that would have been enough.
4) if they gave me twins and they were the same gender, that would have been enough.
5) If I left with a child and didn't feel a forever bond with the other parents and a belonging to a very special group, that would have been enough.
6) If I came home with a child, but didn't have the most amazing story and adventure of all parents in the world and how we finally met 16,000 kilometres away and our incredible stay in a foreign land, with hundreds of friends and family waiting at the airport for your eventual arrival, that would have been enough.
7) If I came home with a child, but never felt I go back to have another child, that would be enough.
8) If as a single male bringing home twins, I would never have an effect on future males wanting to have children or have an effect on people's views of parenting roles around the world forever more, that would be enough.
But you see, this clinic gave me all these things. My name is Steven Mintz and I from Canada.
After so many failures and heartbrakes with other clinics, I came here and on the first try was the lucky father of twins. Their names are Ryan and Emily-Rose, a boy and a girl, and are two very healthy children. I feel as part of group and bond with other parents here as we all share the same hopes and dreams when we arrive here. That's not something I have felt at home before. The adventure here in India has just begun and it is part of the story I am collecting of their births to give to them on their 16th birthday (traditional big birthday in Canada). I know I could come back if needed too, and recommend to all my friends having difficulty conceiving a child which are many. But mostly, the last one, I will have a positive impact on stereotypical gender roles regarding children worldwide and for generations to come. And that would have been enough!
Dayenu

As always, we wish this family the choicest of blessings.

From the USA: A Big Thank You

Another family returns home, babies well loved by their parents, grandparents, family, and friends

Dear Dr Shivani and SCI team
We are very grateful for your help in making our family a reality.

We appreciate the excellent SCI staff (Meg, Margarida, Neha, Yogita, Jyoti, Lalit, Rachna, and Nabanita) who were there for us when we needed their assistance. Thank you as well for arranging the meeting with our dear surrogate (SS) last week. We were quite happy to see her in person to thank her for what she did for us.

The twins are doing well and gaining weight as expected. They are enjoying their time interacting with their grandparents, family, and friends. We will come back to India someday so that the twins experience part of their heritage, and hopefully meet the special people that helped bring them into this world.

With Love
M, S, T & S

From Australia : a pigeon pair and a father's delight!

A family completed, a fathers delight...

Dear Dr Shivani,

I can not thank you and your team enough for everything you have done.

Charlie and April are now 3 months old and deliver so much joy to myself and everyone in my family.

I always dreamed of having a family, and while considering surrogacy in India since 2006; there was a huge mix of emotions, being overwhelmed, scared and afraid to go any further then just looking at websites. I sat back and waited for the perfect timing to start the ball rolling, but after 6 years, I realized that waiting for the perfect moment may result in missing the perfect opportunity..... so I contacted SCI and started those first couple of steps.

I was so lucky that both surrogates fell pregnant on the first attempt and the pregnacies ran very smoothly, You did an amazing job caring for the surrogates and always keeping me informed every step of the way. Every member of SCI was always so helpful, caring and considerate. Specifillically a huge thank you to Meg (who helped to keep me from turning into a crazed parentzilla), Rachna and Neha.

A million thanks yous!!!

Adrian, Charlie and April Tilby
