Let's help get Master Cheeks and Princess back HOME

We have all been following Bernadette and Duane's story of Master Cheeks and the Princess, for those of you new to this, you can catch up here: http://www.rastalesstraveled.com/

Bernadette has been incredibly brave and resilient ( in other words, a Mommy), dealing with extra-ordinary circumstances that no one in our surrogacy community could anticipate, plan for or had to deal with.

And while this time in Delhi has had its blessings and challenges, it is time for this family to go home.

There is a small hic- cup to this plan, a small matter of $25,000 USD. Many of you have asked how can we help? Well, we are starting a collection to assist this amazing family to get back home .
The easiest way to do this is via  https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/send-money-online  with payments made directly to Bernadette and Duane:bmhunton@gmail.com .  I know that any assistance will be much appreciated. I am told that if you mark this as a gift, B& D will have less fees, but i am not sure how to do this...

We know how generous our community is, thank you for considering this..

From Belgium : Twins!

For some families, everything takes that bit longer, but the end result is well worth the wait. These parents went to the end's of the world to have their babies and had to wait for bureaucratic process in their home country to work through the hoops and hurdles that go with bringing your baby home. One of the challenges of being a 'first'

But after years of infertility and finally getting and staying pregnant, this has just become a part of story full of courage and determination to become parents.

And the end result, well worth the wait and just perfect :)

                                                           Dear Dr Shivani,
We hope all goes well with SCI. After 105 days in New
Delhi, the Belgian government finally allowed us to find our house
last month. Everyone has been very pleased to finally meet the babies.

Rose and Eliott are doing very well, they already have 5 months now.
These are real little loves. We still can not realize the luck and
happiness that we had to find you on our way. We think every day Rxxx,
we hope that she and her family are well.
Best regards,
J &  C

We wish this family the choicest of God's blessings and thank them for sharing their story.

From Argentina: two Papa's and one son

We were delighted to read the adjoining blog post, that Ale, Carlos our first Argentinian clients had arrived home safely, three weeks after the birth of their beautiful baby boy Tobias. All the preparatory work undertaken by these diligent fathers paid off, with a smooth, quick going home process.

Dear Dr. Shivani,
One year ago we trusted you and your team to expand our family, which has been in the last 12 years only two of us. This was what gave the name to our blog
www.familiaplus2.blogspot.com
Today we are ready to go home. Exactly three weeks ago, Tobías came to our arms, a healthy baby, sweet and ready to receive all our love.
We will give Tobias the best education and values as we can. We hope we can honor the great work that you and your team have done.
We have always been accompanied by all of you in every step of this journey. You've been incredibly supportive!
Our eternal gratitude
Ale, Carlos & Tobías

From the U.S: a beautiful baby girl

As with many families, the journey to SCI is not smooth or kind. It is with great joy and delight when we can help families achieve their much longed for dream and finally have their baby, this is one such family

Words cannot express how thankful we are to Dr. Shivani for creating the Surrogacy Program at SCI.  We realize that without this program we would not have been able to have our own biological child.  After more than 4 years of pursuing IVF in the U.S. unsuccessfully, with countless exams, doctors, tests, expenses and disappointments, we were resigned to the fact that a biological child was not in our future. Our last reproductive endocrinologist suggested that we try to use a gestational carrier as a final attempt before pursuing other options, as the cause of our recurrent early pregnancy loss was unclear.

With no knowledge of surrogacy, we scoured the internet for information.  After reviewing many options we were most impressed with the experience and success of Dr. Shivani's clinic.  The testaments on the SCI Clinic Blog were invaluable for both information and to inspire some confidence that surrogacy abroad was a viable, and in many ways, a better option for us than pursuing this in the USA. Armed with this knowledge and with a leap of faith, we traveled to New Delhi to visit the clinic and meet Dr. Shivani and the Staff in person. This visit helped us finalize our decision and we moved forward.

We followed Dr. Shivani's advice in terms of cycling and sending our frozen embryos to optimize our chances and the end result was the birth of our healthy daughter. It is very intimidating and stressful to be halfway around the world from your growing baby but the clinic gave us constant updates to ease our anxiety. When we returned to New Delhi for the birth of our child, the clinic had arranged everything for us, including advice on where to stay, sending a representative to meet us the day of her birth, and promptly processing the needed documentation for the process to return with our daughter to the U.S.

After the birth of our daughter, we had an opportunity to reunite with our surrogate and one of her children to give one last word of thanks. That brief meeting made the whole process come full circle and we left with the thought, " two families changed for the better, forever".

In particular, we would like to personally thank both Rachna and Gourav for their professionalism. Rachna helped us so much when we came to pick up our child... it was truly a pleasure working with her. She is a credit to the clinic.

Special thanks to all the bloggers as well as Meg and Margarida for giving us the feeling that this was a viable option.

Dr. Shivani, again, we cannot thank you enough.  You have given us a priceless gift.  Thank you for giving us this opportunity.  Thank you for you taking care of our growing child and surrogate.  Thank you for your compassion and medical expertise.

We are so in love with our beautiful daughter. We will let her know how you all helped her come into this world.

We wish this special family the choicest of God's blessings.

From the U.S : Two Daddies

Some stories are best left to parent words and pictures, and what beautiful thoughts and pictures they are:

Ethan

Dear Dr. Shivani,

Today we prepare to head back home to the United States to conclude this near 1-year journey that has culminated in making our family a reality. We are so blessed to have Ethan with us and we want to thank you for everything you have done for us. The past 9 months in particular have been filled with excitement, joy, nervousness, anxiety, and suspense, all which culminated to the sheer euphoria that we have felt holding Ethan in our arms for the first time. We also know that both you and the SCI staff, as well as Megan, have shared our emotional roller coaster ride with us. You have provided us with support and guidance, and we can't thank you enough for doing what you do.

As we leave India we take with us joyous memories of meeting everyone involved, both at SCI and at Delhi Newborn Center. Although our stay has been brief, what we have experienced here in Delhi will stay us for the rest of our lives. It has truly been a life-changing event. We were so happy to have the opportunity to take a picture with you and Ethan at SCI, and we would like you to share that with others on your blog. We have also chronicled our journey with you, and celebrate the arrival of Ethan, through our own blog: http://ourgeminidragons.emaginations.com/wp/  We would be delighted to have you share it with other IP's on your website and include us in your ever-expanding family of SCI parents.

Thank you for making our dreams, and the dreams of countless others, come true every day. You give to all of us the gift of the miracle of life, and through it, a life with never-ending joy and happiness. We hope to celebrate another miracle with you in the future!

Sincerely,

John, Michael & Ethan

From the US and Spain: a Daddy & Papá

We'll just let this photo and statement speak for itself. For those of you who want to know more about this amazing story, you can read about it here: http://jasonandadrian.blogspot.com.au/

Dear Dr. Shivani and everyone at SCI --

As I write this, Olivia is asleep on my chest and Adrιán is feeding Clara near a window overlooking a Delhi skyline.  It's the morning after our first truly sleepless night on our own with our daughters, and we're a little groggy, but happy.  We spend a lot of time staring at them, as they eat, as they sleep, just letting it sink in that they're real and they're ours.

Even under the best of circumstances, having a baby via IVF literally on the other side of the world is a daunting experience, in some ways even moreso for a gay couple.  How will we be treated?  Will two men having a baby (or two!) be an issue?  At SCI, we were treated with warmth and respect.  You and your team did so much to demystify the process for us and patiently answered all our questions over the course of more than a year, as we investigated surrogacy options and saved our pennies.  When other clinics took days to answer our questions, if they answered at all, we always received a response from someone at SCI within hours, even before we were officially clients.  That level of attention continued throughout our pregnancy.

Thank you so much for your professionalism and your warmth.  There's no better testimony to what you do than the tiny girl sleeping on my chest right now.

Much love,

Jason, Adrián, Olivia and Clara

Querida Dra. Shivani,

thoughts & feelings with a touch of sleep deprivation

We are always touched when parents express their thanks to us, but there is always something very special when people take the time to personally express their thankfulness in their own word. This is even more touching when you take into account that all are experiencing the wonders of much wanted, much desired, sleep deprivation...

If you would like to experience the wonders of sleep deprivation, please contact us.

From Australia: A baby boy

It is fitting, that after the success of the Australian Surrogacy Conference, the first baby's story that we share with you is our newest littlest Australian, Theodore, much loved and adored by his parents and grandparents with him in Delhi and those family and friends waiting at home.

"To Dr Shivani and the SCI team,

It is not possible to adequately express our gratitude to you for bringing our beautiful baby boy Theodore into our lives.  Every aspect of the complex journey that is surrogacy has been made so much easier by the excellent team that SCI has assembled.  The outstanding medical care that we have received has been matched by the wonderful support staff that have been a tremendous help from beginning to end.  As medical practitioners, we also recognise the excellence of Dr Shivani and have no doubt that her expertise underlies the incredible success that we have experienced personally with SCI, and have witnessed amongst other parents that we have met during our stay in New Delhi.

With all of our love and thanks,

Davina, Eamon and Theodore"

We wish this extended family the choicest of blessings and thank them for sharing their stories.

SCI at Surrogacy Australia Conference ( Melbourne)

The SCI team were privileged to be a part of the first Surrogacy Australia Conference in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Shivani was one of the first key note presenters; greeted to the podium with a rock star style welcome with much cheering and whooping by those attending the conference.

( Thanks to Lucylu who took this photo)

It was wonderful to meet so many SCI families and those considering and commencing their journey with SCI. Meg & Margarida assisted Dr. Shivani and as a consequence both have no voice left, but many in our SCI family were happy to put faces to names. Dr. Shivani took pride in the number of SCI babies at the creche and the number of families willing to share their stories & experiences with SCI with others.

Wonderful news for India with Australia being the preferred destination for surrogacy:

There is no doubt that the highlight of the conference was the dinner organised by grateful SCI parents, which blossomed to over 50 adults and many many babies & toddlers, all eager to see Dr. Shivani once again.

Dr. Shivani took great delight in reminding us all that she was the first to hold our babies when they were 2-3 day old embryos, delighted by how they had all grown. With much cuddling, cooing, reviewing of photos and telling of stories, a great time was had by all.

From the U.S: a sibling project & a family completed

We feel very mindful that so many family trust us to help them achieve their dreams of having a family; privileged when those same families come back to SCI,, to help them complete their family. This is one such story...

"Thank you Dr. Shivani and SCI!!

We spent many years struggling with medical procedures to try to overcome infertility and just have a family, something that seemed to happen so easily for people around us. We explored adoption as well and while that has been a wonderful road for many we know, it was not so for us, and again we felt further heart ache and truly started to believe that maybe we would never have children.

Dr Shivani and her team helped change that for us in a matter of months.  Thanks to Dr Shivani and our generous donor and surrogate mother, in March 2011 our beautiful daughter Neve was born in New Delhi. Neve has brought us so much joy! We knew after a few months that we wanted a larger family and without hesitation we turned again to SCI for help. So, now here we are in May 2012 in New Delhi with our miracle twins, Ronan and Gemma. We have three healthy children and so many wonderful memories of our experiences here that the many years of struggle to get to this point have faded into the background.  Dr. Shivani is wonderful at guiding new parents through the process and her team at SCI are great with navigating the system in Delhi to make the exit process as easy as possible.

We are greatly indebted to Dr Shivani and her dedicated team at SCI. Thanks to them we now have a wonderful family and feel so lucky every day that we made the decision to embark on this journey.  We have the utmost faith in the medical care that Dr. Shivani provides and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone seeking to complete their family.

Love,

Gaelyn, Hamish, Neve, Ronan &Gemma"

As with all of our families, we wish Gaelyn, Hamish, Neve, Ronan & Gemma the choicest of God's blessings and wish them every joy in their future.
