An update from Brazil in Portuguese...

An update in Portuguese!

Please read the original post here: http://drshivanisachdevgourdelhi.blogspot.com.au/2013/11/from-brazil-blessed-baby-boy.html

Obrigado Deus, obrigada Dra.

From the U.S.A : A gorgeous baby girl...

A beautiful baby girl for a beautiful family, all safely back home in Illinois, with their family and friends.

We have always had a dream of becoming parents but never knew what we could do to realize our dreams. Then last year we heard about SCI. I said to myself that this is just too good to be true as we had been let down by adoption agencies so many times before. In December 2012 I met with Dr Shivani, after meeting with I felt a sense of calm and confidence that our dream of parenthood was about to come true!!!

Fast forward to October this year when we got the much awaited call from Dr. Shivani that our precious little daughter had arrived. We adore and cherish her every moment. She is everything and then some that we ever dreamed of.

We are eternally grateful to Dr. Shivani and her wonderful team. Her judgement and experience is just priceless. Team at SCI kept us informed every step of the way and answered every question we had. Also, we are indebted to our most generous surrogate and her family. Without her help and generosity our daughter would not be a possibility.

We will always keep her in our prayers.

Thank you all
Proud Parents

Big kids update ( USA) : Christmas Eve Boys and their sons Jag and Ajay who are three!

Many of us followed the story of the Christmas Eve boys, one of the families that i tend to think of as being a first generation families with SCI.

We all celebrated the birth of their gorgeous sons, Ajay and Jag and often wondered how they were doing. For those of you who would like to look at the back story, here is the link to the Christmas Eve boys blog : christmaseveboys.blogspot.com

I would like to thank both Terry and Steve for kindly allowing us a glimpse of their family three years on. We are so very proud to be part of both Jag and Ajay's story.

Rarely a day passes without Steve and I speaking about how blessed we are to have these two guys in our lives.  All the hard work and emotion that it took to create their lives has now been eclipsed by the immense responsibility of properly raising them.  The boys turned three on September 11th and we have gone from asking ‘when will they start talking in complete sentences?’…to asking… ‘will they ever stop talking?!?!?!’  Two chatter-boxes…non-stop chatter!  People always say ‘they grow up so quickly’.  This is true, but we have committed ourselves to treasuring every single moment so that we do not ever ask ourselves where the time has gone

.

Our life revolves around the two of them.  Both are very physically active and given their short stature (both are approximately 36” (a bit over 91cm) tall at this point), they are enjoying gymnastics.  They love books and Spongebob Squarepants.  Their favorite movie is Mulan and I am fairly certain we have seen it more than 100 times at this point…never seems to grow tiresome for them!  Jag is reserved and can sit quietly and draw or color…Ajay cannot sit still for more than 5 minutes at a time.  They have very different personalities.  Steve is Dada and I am Daddy.  I am the disciplinarian and Steve is the pushover…a serious pushover.  When I say ‘no’ they run to Steve.  Oh well, you cannot win them all!

Because their birthday falls in early September, they will not begin pre-school until next year.  The age requirement to enter school is three years on or before Sept 1.  They missed that by 10 days.  So, they will start next year, a few days before their 4th birthday.  We’ve identified the school and are in the process of completing admissions applications.  There are 21 spots available in our ‘first choice’ school and we are hoping to secure two of them.  There are some contingency plans if they aren’t accepted but we are hopeful.  Everyone tells us they will be well served by being elders in their class…good for self esteem and for learning curve.

I miss our blog and I apologize for not properly ‘signing off’ but I felt as though the public story had evolved into their private lives.  Perhaps when they are reading and writing for themselves, they will choose to pick up the story and share their lives with the on-line surrogacy community, but that will be their choice, not mine.

We miss all of you very much and are incredibly thankful this holiday season for Dr Shivani who made our dreams a reality.  What she is doing for families like ours is something so profound that words are not enough.  We all send our love and blessings and wish you a prosperous 2014!

PS.  Steve and I are legally married…Dec 3, 2011…New York City

With Love,
Terry, Steve, Jag and Ajay

We wish our American boys the choicest of blessings in the years to come. If you would like to find out more about surrogacy in India, please email us at : drshivanisachdev@gmail.com

From Ireland - a Diwali baby girl

Ireland's newest baby girl, safely home with family and friends...

We are so delighted to welcome our most beautiful precious bundle of joy, born on Diwali eve in Delhi, India.
We are so, so grateful to the whole team at SCI. We especially thank Dr. Shivani for her expert help and her sound judgement. She and the entire team from the medical to the admin staff and the nurses were so caring and professional. We would not have had our baby without our wonderful and generous surrogate mother and indeed, without the help of Dr. Shivani and the SCI team.

We are so blessed with our beautiful baby daughter, whom we cherish and adore. We would not have had her only for the wonderful generosity of our beautiful surrogate mother. We will forever be indebted to her and we will keep her in our prayers and thanks to her.

Thank you all so much

We wish this family the choicest of blessings. A Diwali baby is certainly a blessing, a reminder of the light and goodness that surrounds us.

From Brazil: a blessed baby boy

Such a joyous couple, what a wonderful family, who after so many failures in their own country finally achieved their dream...

After trying for numerous times by myself, God has blessed us, and we got it, thanks Dr. Shivani. Everything was perfect from the start, the team of Dr. Shivani always helped us and made our journey easier.

At first we were worried about everything (we did not imagine to do surrogacy) but after meeting the clinical and the dr. Shivani we were more relaxed and more confident.
Now we are very happy and we are eternally grateful.

We pray every day for Dr. Shivani, her team and the surrogate mother.

Marconi, Aparecida and João .
From Brazil.

We wish this family the choicest of blessings in the coming years.

From the USA- Beautiful thoughts on their baby girl...

Reflections on being a new fathers, raising a baby girl

TWO VERY PROUD DADDIES OF A BABY GIRL

Dear Doctor,
I guess you have heard these words a number of times, but I will never thank you enough for the incredible joy you have brought into our lives with the blessing of our adored Jacqueline.

To me, you and your staff are not a simple medical facility staff and equip, but pure miracle-makers.

We are leaving Delhi tonight and can’t wait to start our new life together back home.

Before leaving I want to deliver this message to you and to the world.

As a father of a marvelous newborn baby girl, I want to cherish the importance of female gender, who runs the world with loving sensibility.

The role, importance and strength of the female gender is often sadly subjugated by male’s unjustified dominant social position. This is a world wide issue and there is still a long way to go before equity is fully achieved.

We all need to aim our efforts to changing the way things are today. The very first commitment and responsibility must come form the families as founding and basic cells of the society.

The change must be radical and affect society customs. We cannot ignore that women raise the adults of tomorrow and that the dominant male individuals that abuse of their social position were raised by women as well.

People’s attitude and mentality must be shaken from their very roots.

We have undertaken very seriously the importance of our task as parents, and we  committed ourselves to make sure that Jacqueline shall become an adult free from any form of subjection, aware of her incredible and precious creative power. We will never allow Jacqueline to feel bound to cultural or religious imposed role models. Jacqueline shall become the woman she wants to be, without any fear of being unconventional or different.

The importance and richness of being different will be our legacy to Jacqueline.

Dear Doctor we will never forget what you did for us. May the world be lucky enough to experience the gift of an increasing number of incredible women like you are.

Big kid update : from Australia, our three...

We often get asked, what ever happened to.. , so now  and then we will include a big kid update from one of our families from around the globe, some reflections on surrogacy and their journey through surrogacy and as a parent.

Here is our first, a couple from Australia and as you can see a lot can happen in 18 months...

Time has flown. This time last year, hubby and I were busily preparing for our trip back to Delhi to await the imminent birth of our three long awaited cherubs. I was just about to leave my work who were so so happy for me.

Fast forward to today and our babies are 11 months old tomorrow. They are such a delight and I dont know how I got so lucky....well yes I do with the incredible skill and professionalism of Dr Shivani and SCI and with the extremely and amazing generosity of three women our 2 surrogate mothers L and K and our egg donor.....we will always be grateful for helping us make this gorgeous little family.

Our oldest (not by much I think 45 minutes older) and smallest Sophie smiles and laughs so much it is impossible for your heart not to jump when she holds out her arms to you for a cuddle. Sophie is such a good sleeper and sleeps through the night regularly and loves her naps during the day. Sophie gets so excited when you read books to her again I cant help but read to her several times a day.

Lilly is such a party girl. She wakes up with a smile and bounces in her cot to greet me in the morning. Lilly was the first to crawl and is now trying so hard to stand up on her own without assistance. She is nearly there . Lilly is also the first one of our three to feed herself and actually prefers finger food these days. Lilly is going to be musical as she loves dancing around to music. We sing very often to all our three and Lilly squeals with delight.

Jack is such a handsome boy and loves to start the laughter chain amongst the girls. He is growing tall and as my niece says he has solid guns (muscly arms). He loves to play peekaboo with us lifting his sheet over his face and then pulling it down laughing. He prefers to crawl on his tummy and he has surprised me how fast he can move like

Our house is very noisy now as all three are talking the usual words, Dadda, Mumma, No, and other words we are not sure of yet. They have been such good babies I am one very lucky mummy.

Their 1st Birthday is approaching on 16 December and we are having a small gathering on the Sunday 15 December to celebrate. Their party is going to be "An anything goes Indian Theme". I am going to attempt to make an elephant birthday cake for them.

I am so looking forward to everything  in the future...all the little things and all the milestones even potty training!

I think about our egg donor and our surrogate mothers* and what an incredible gift they have given to us. Like many of us, my infertility left me sad and with little options to have a family and my hubby and I endured this hollow feeling for so many years despite trying IVF and adoption.

Whilst the surrogacy journey feels hard and is definitely like a roller-coaster ride, to have your babies in your arms is all worth it. I would have more children through surrogacy if I was younger and more energetic! For those starting out the journey, remember to research research and research. If you choose a clinic overseas understand what you need from that clinic in terms of communication etc.

Try and make decisions in advance and without emotion if you can and remember to plan plan and plan. We planned and budgeted for probably the worst outcome (NICU costs and other unexpected medical costs) ...... remember you are also dealing with a different culture where your surrogate mother may want privacy, may not want you to be present at ultrasounds or may not wish to meet you. Don't take this personally.

Finally, the other parents you meet on this journey and lifelong friendships and bonds that are created when your children are born, for our family was an unexpected and delightful blessing.

Embrace the unexpected, don't sweat the small stuff and keep trying. It is worth it when your dreams come true. Ours did and we will be forever grateful for Sophie, Lilly and Jack.

Love you Dr Shivani and SCI angels. See you in 4-5 years time when we come back to New Delhi for a visit xxx

FROM AUSTRALIA: A Family reborn

Many of our families come to us with stories of loss, this precious story is one of them...

In 2012,after losing a precious baby girl born at 23 weeks with a clinic in Mumbai and later having a negative result at the same clinic,I then decided to try another clinic.I emailed several clinics in India and SCI was one of the clinics to get back to me.

Speaking to Dr. Shivani gave me hope and confidence that I will have a family again after losing my only child (my best mate) in a car accident when he was 13 years old. On the 23rd November 2013 Ryan would be turning 26 years old, and my precious little angel Katalani would have turned 1 in October this year.

Even before I left Australia for India, I felt confident that I had picked the right clinic.

In early 2013 I personally met Dr. Shivani and after talking with Dr. Shivani and being explained the whole process at SCI (and I mean the whole process!!!!), I felt even more confident with SCI.

Dr. Shivani reassured me that I will achieve my dreams of having a family again, you might think that they were only words spoken.

But as I hold my handsome son and my beautiful daughter in my arms and look into their loving eyes, I feel very blessed that I have met the most precious person in the world Dr. Shivani, a true angel, that has given me a beautiful family again!

My dreams are not my dreams anymore.

I now have five more very precious people in my life, Dr. Shivani, the very generous egg donor, and the most incredible person in my life the surrogate.

I will always be in debt to these wonderful people my life and the other two most precious in my life, my son and daughter!!

It should be Zero to two in less than 10 months!!!!!

God bless everyone at SCI.

Heartfelt thanks,
Noel.

We wish this family the choicest of blessings and celebrate their safe return home to Australia.

From Brazil: a bundle of girls and dreams come true...

After failed fertility treatment in Brazil, success and a family completed:

Suri, Maya & Noa
Meu nome é Dror e minha esposa Tania.

English summary

My name is Dror, and with my wife Tania, we undertook 5 failed attempts of IVF in Brazil.  Our first two attempts with SCI were unsuccessful, so it was recommended that we cycle with two surrogates*. Imagine our surprise when both surrogates became pregnant, one with two babies and the other with one. They were born on the 4/9/13 and 7/10/13

We would like to thank Dr. Shivani and her team, both inside and outside of India, they were very solicitous in answering our questions, explaining the process that took 15 months in total.

We recommend Dr. Shivani and her clinic to all Brazilians who opt for this process. We are thankful to this whole team that made our dreams come true

Happy Diwali from our SCI family to yours

Diwali is the festival of lights and celebration. one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes.

It is a time in which family travel to be together; where our surrogate's families are assisted to be with their daughters, wives, mothers; where the surrogate accommodation is filled with  food, laughter, joy and light ( and family).
While Diwali is popularly known as the "festival of lights", the most significant spiritual meaning is "the awareness of the inner light".

The celebration of Diwali as the "victory of good over evil", refers to the light of higher knowledge dispelling all ignorance, the ignorance that masks one's true nature.

With this awakening comes compassion and the awareness of the oneness of all things and this brings joy & peace.
Just as we celebrate the birth of our physical being, Diwali is the celebration of this Inner Light.

May the Divine Light Of Diwali,

Spread Into Your Life Peace,
Prosperity, Happiness and Good Health.

Happy Diwali from our SCI family to yours,
with affection,
from
Dr. Shivani and the SCI Team
