We have all been following Bernadette and Duane's story of Master Cheeks and the Princess, for those of you new to this, you can catch up here: http://www.rastalesstraveled.com/
Bernadette has been incredibly brave and resilient ( in other words, a Mommy), dealing with extra-ordinary circumstances that no one in our surrogacy community could anticipate, plan for or had to deal with.
And while this time in Delhi has had its blessings and challenges, it is time for this family to go home.
There is a small hic- cup to this plan, a small matter of $25,000 USD. Many of you have asked how can we help? Well, we are starting a collection to assist this amazing family to get back home .

The easiest way to do this is via https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/send-money-online with payments made directly to Bernadette and Duane:bmhunton@gmail.com . I know that any assistance will be much appreciated. I am told that if you mark this as a gift, B& D will have less fees, but i am not sure how to do this...
We know how generous our community is, thank you for considering this..
We think this is a really good idea. It IS definitely time this family were reunited and their Daddy got to meet his babies. Not everything goes to plan unfortunately. Very glad to see that steps have been made to move forward.
ReplyDeleteGreat cause for an amazing family, money transferred. "whatever it takes" you will get those beautiful babies home. Best wishes
ReplyDeleteApologies, should have read the instructions before hitting send, I didn't mark the donation as a gift. I hope this doesn't cause any problems.
I have been following Bernatdette's blog, along with many of the other surrogacy blogs. And although I don't often leave comments I can't help but follow, and marvel at the amazing families being created through surrogacy. We too were on the surrogacy road (a few years ago now and with a Mumbai clinic) and although our journey was not successful we were fortunate to go on and find a doctor in Australia who finally helped us become parents after nearly a decade of trying and 15 IVF transfers (self and surrogate). So each time I read about a new bubba my heart skips a beat and I know how much these bubbas were wanted and loved even before they came into this world. I will happily donate to this family to help, in some small way, to reunite them so they can go on to be the family they were meant to be.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous idea.....hope our donation adds to a bigger pot to get you all home very soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful idea, I've been following this journey and having had a smooth run ourselves which was still stressful I am in awe of Bernadette. Your am amazing lady. Your kids are so lucky. Again Dr S and SCI it shows how wonderful you are too. Happy to donate to such an amazing cause. Denise & John
ReplyDeleteI too agree that Bernadette has gone through a traumatic and anxious time over more than 120 days. Yes, it is time that Hayden (Master Cheeks) can be reunited with their family. I will certainly be donating. An excellent idea SCI.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on a safe journey home.
Gary
I just said to my hubby yesterday we should do this same thing! Great that SCI has started this for Bern and babies, and of course Duane. Hopefully we can rally together on this!

ReplyDeleteI agree with all the others, I am happy to help Bernadette. You're amazing and reading your story is such an enrichment.
ReplyDelete25,000 shouldn't be a big challenge - it is just 500 or 1,000 of us :)
Good luck, Margrit
Great idea. I sent a payment, and will post about it on my blog later today. I hope Bernandette and the babies get home soon!

ReplyDeleteFeel like an idiot . . . where on the donation page do we mark the donation as a gift?
ReplyDeletesome one told me this is an easy thing to do, i can't find it either...
DeleteClick on the tab at the top of the field marked "personal" and it should say Gift. Mark that and you are good to go.
DeleteOn PayPal website - under "send money"....there are 2 tabs (Purchase & Personal). Select the "Personal" tab and you will see 4 options....1 of which is "Gift".
DeleteI know it is tricky to find....I had troubles too!
Is there a physical address where we can send a donation? (i don't have a PayPal account!)
ReplyDeleteOnce you go through the PayPal portal and enter your donation in automatically went to 'gift' unless you changed it. This should fix up the donations where the person didn't see it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for thinking of this. Bernadette & Duane are special people and they need to be together now. Hopefully this will allow Bernadette and the babies to come home!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are happy that we have this chance to help. Congratulations to Bernadette, Duane, Princess and Master Cheeks on your beautiful family.
